Research Interests
Martin is generally interested in ubicomp systems and technologies, particular in Smart Objects including RFID technologies and innovative gadgets. He is
particularly interested in systems of Smart Objects that include various sensors and computation forming a network of interacting artefacts. In his PhD he investigates how physical objects can be computationally and physically
augmented to observe their environment and cooperatively reason about their observations, e.g. for assesing safety critical situations. We refer to these kind of smart objects as Cooperative Artefacts. Martin’s
research is part of Lancaster’s focus on Embedded and Interactive Systems (EIS).
