Ubiquitous Media and Social Infrastructure

I was kindly invited to speak at the Ubiquitous Media and Social Infrastructure International Workshop, organized by the 21st Century Center of Excellence Program, Keio University.

The workshop was held at Stanford University on August 26th, 2005. Presided by Hideyuki Tokuda and chaired by Ikuyo Kaneko, Jun Murai and Hiroaki Chiyokura.

I presented an overview of my work on ad hoc physical interfaces in the Media Communication Design session chaired by Masa Inakage.

Collaborative Artefacts and Interactive Furniture

I was invited to participate in the workshop on Collaborative Artefacts and Interactive Furniture, organized by CRAFT and chaired by Pierre Dillenbourg.

The topic of this workshop was the development of furniture that can support collaboration and interaction between students in the new learning centre being built on the EPFL campus in Lausanne.

More than fifty participants attended the workshop, and came from varied backgrounds including architecture, art, interaction design, HCI and ubicomp research.
